Teaching
Philosophy
The act of singing involves the whole person: body, mind, spirit, emotind voice. Each voice and personality is unique. To help a singer develop his or her full voice potential is therefore an individual process and a supportive and nurturing environment is essential. Only a sound vocal technique understood as an extension of free organic movement* enables the freedom of full vocal expression. In the process of developing a natural, well balanced and free, vibrating voice the student will more easily relate to the emotional content of the music and his or her inner musicality can surface. ¶

Teaching
Approach
Vocal tuition is tailored and focuses in great detail on each student’s particular needs and objectives. These include Classical singing and voice building, vocal training in other singing styles (Jazz, Musical, Chanson), vocal training for choir singing, speaking voice training or a general body-breath-voice training to encourage the freedom of full expression and personal development.
Core components are postural alignment, breathing and healthy airflow, register balance, range and flexibility, legato singing, resonance and diction. Vocal exercises are designed to inspire and develop the particular elements and to encourage a coordinated process in voice production. In establishing a free, balanced and naturally vibrating voice the student will more easily relate to the emotional content of the music, and his or her inner musicality and artistic expression can surface.
Individual
Singing
Lessons
My aim is to help the student develop his or her fullest vocal potential and to establish a sound vocal technique which encourages natural movement and enables the freedom of full expression. Vocal exercises are designed to inspire a balanced reflexive physical vocal response and improve the coordinated process in voice production.
Core components are postural alignment, breathing and healthy airflow, register balance, legato singing, resonance and diction, range and dynamics. All components interact. In establishing a free, balanced and naturally vibrating voice the student will more easily relate to the emotional content of the music, and his or her inner musicality and artistic expression can surface.
Group
Singing
Lessons
Group singing lessons are designed as a 10-week course held once a week with a maximum of 6 participants (1½ hours per lesson). In a supportive environment you will be encouraged to explore your vocal potential and to find greater freedom to express yourself in speaking and singing.
The main focus lies on group exercises on postural alignment, on the connection of voice, body and breath, breathing and healthy airflow, body and voice awareness. All exercises are designed to inspire a balanced reflexive physical vocal response. Alternately individual attention is given to each participant and their particular needs and objectives. Group lessons are a good opportunity to get a first impression on how vocal training can help you find greater freedom of expression in singing and speaking. The lessons will enable you to find a greater sense of connectedness and vocal confidence. They can support you in your choral singing or your singing in general, and help you in professions where you need to speak up in front of the public. Group lessons are open to everyone who wants to discover and develop his or her voice, and are a good alternative to a one-to-one singing lesson.
Choral
Vocal
Training
In a regular choir rehearsal, the emphasis lies on singing the choral repertoire. Often there is only time for a short warm up. In a choral vocal training the choir members are given the chance to experience more general vocal practise. The main focus lies in encouraging and setting a good foundation.
Vocal exercises are very similar to the exercises in a one-to-one vocal lesson and are designed to encourage a balanced reflexive physical response in the vocal mechanism. Core elements being postural alignment, breathing and a healthy airflow, register balance, voice flexibility, vocal range, dynamics and diction. The choir members are encouraged to develop a greater body and voice awareness and the feeling of connectedness. In developing a natural, healthy singing tone in the choir members, more choral blend and choral balance can be achieved. The choir is enabled to open up to more expressive music making, sensitive singing and a more satisfying experience for all choir members.
